Hello and thanks for visiting my website! I’m Omolade Akpata also known as Mola Akpata. I live in Los Angeles, California, but I’m from Lagos, Nigeria. I started this fashion line when my late father Mr.Segun Akpata passed away June 1st, 2008. When he passed away I didn’t have a way to express myself especially being thirteen at the time, fashion was the only way I could express myself. My father has always been the motive behind Mo’co’latee fashions. On August 1st 2009 Mo’co’latee fashions was born. My mother Mrs. Lola Cole Akpata has always been my number one supporter.

Since then I have had over 20 successful fashion shows at different venues and prominent culture events across the globe. All of my pieces are inspired from the African fabric called Ankara. I have always felt the passion for fashion. Fashion to me is not just something I do for fun, but also something that motivates me. Fashion to me means expressing ones style through your thoughts, feelings and other ways. When I started this business I did not start it just for the African crowd, but envisioned a fashion line that would be appreciated by all cultures including but not limited to American, Latino, and Middle Eastern culture.

In a world where todays ways can have a negative influence on a person, my hope for my line is that other young teenagers like me will find a positive angle to express themselves through their passion. Fashion is my art, and I love to paint a vision and personality with every piece I make.

A millionaire is not a man with a Million dollars but a Man who has touched a Million lives.

I’ve learned that I will always have competition in this business but I will be the best.

I’ve learnt to make someone mad by being successful, and being successful doesn’t exactly mean being rich or having the money to buy whatever you want, because money is not a blessing it’s a symptom of a blessing. Accomplishing my goals, walking with my head lifted high and being able to mentor youths across the world has been my form of happiness.
